Finally! This book has been long awaited and wished for! Stephanie Perkins really knows how to strike the heart strings with her characters.
Isla has been in love with Josh since her freshman year. But she feels like she's never been noticed by him. Now that they're in their senior year she is occupying his old room in the dorms, which is weirdly comforting.
Josh is not used to being on his own, all of his friends were a year older so he's the only one left still at school. After an odd encounter with Isla in New York before their return for the school year he has been fascinated by her.
Perkins does a great job of creating a believable and likeable romance. It has everything that made the first two books in the companion series adorable and fun. Anna, Etienne, Lola and Cricket all make a cameo in Isla's book. It is worth the wait.
Overall, it was a fun, adorable, book that made me fall in love with the characters and brought tears to my eyes. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance or the Young Adult genre.
Love ignites in the City That Never Sleeps, but can it last?
