I read the first book in the Red Ridge Pack series a while back. Since then it has been haunting me with seeing how everything played out. So I was happy to be able to review this one.
Circle of Lies is about Aiden who if you have read the first book in this series you know is the brother of Alison. He has learned he is a werewolf. This book is mostly about Aiden coming to terms with who he is and learning some other shocking revelations along the way. I have to say that Aiden was a character who I adored. He was strong and rolled with the punches very easily considering all that he has to deal with in a short amount of time.
Aiden soon meets a girl named Teagan that will change his world, but in a good way. I loved the author’s writing style as she wove a tale of love, lies and learning to accept who you are through the point of view of Teagan and Aiden. I have to say that I didn’t care for the additional view of Peter the villain as there really was no point in adding his in.
As the story goes on Aiden has to decide if he is going to step up to the plate in regards to the weres. I really love how the main focus of this book really was about him and Teagan developing a relationship. Teagan was a flawed yet strong character and you can’t blame the girl as she has had a lot thrown her way at such a young age. I found myself feeling sorry for her and what she endured and was happy when she meet Aiden and finally had someone to lean on. I also loved the way that after a while Aiden’s family embraced her and protected her.
The author again showed a nice side to the weres that made you root for them and hope things would turn out well for them.
Overall this was a quick yet fun read and one that lovers of werewolf stories will love. The plot is entertaining and keeps you engaged. The characters are ones that you will fall in love with and want the best for them. The pacing is just right and made for a really quick read as I finished this one in a day. I recommend this one and hope that there will be a book three in this series as there are still so many unanswered questions.
Aiden Wright is trying to figure out who he really is, but the truth could cost him his true mate—or his life.
Life has always been easy for Aiden Wright. He’s smart, athletic, funny, and the ladies adore him. But when tragedy strikes, Aiden discovers the truth about who he really is, and his whole world comes crashing down around him. Aiden thought that being a teenage werewolf was going to be awesome, but it might just cost him the one girl who could make him whole.
Since her mother’s disappearance, Teagan Rhodes’s life has been littered with her father’s empty beer cans and his hollow promises to change. Convinced that others would only let her down, she keeps everyone at arm’s length—but resisting Aiden’s charm is proving to be more difficult than she thought. Throw in a psychotic werewolf hunter out to terminate the species, and one wrong move, one wrong decision could destroy everything.
