Panic wasn't what I was hoping for. I expected a very intense plot with creepy undertones and while the story did have somewhat of a sinister feel to it, it didn't carry quite the punch I was looking for.
Diamond, while shopping for tights with her friend for a dance performance is kidnapped. With her missing her dance teams is in tears and we get to see both Diamonds story and what happens to the people she left behind. I did enjoy the overall idea, but the execution was lacking. I think the author shied away from harder emotions and stuck with ones that were more on the surface. I feel that if she would have let more go into the story it would have made a world of difference.
This gripping and chillingly realistic novel from New York Times bestselling author Sharon Draper shows that all it takes is one bad decision for everything to change.
Diamond knows not to get into a car with a stranger.
But what if the stranger is well-dressed and handsome? On his way to meet his wife and daughter? And casting a movie that very night—a movie in need of a star dancer? What then?
Then Diamond might make the wrong decision.
