Summer Romance is the first book in the Harbor Moon series. It is also the first book by Traci Mitchell. It's a novella that is close to short story length. It is a well written book that brings something interesting to the young adult genre.
Deanna is the everyday girl, and for once she actually is the everyday girl. I found her very relatable and her actions made sense to me. She is a great lead female. Eric the lead male is also interesting, but to me Deanna really had my attention. The dialogue in this book is really good, and makes it seem like real teenagers could be having this conversations.
The major problem I had was that it needed to be fleshed out more. The supporting characters were very interesting, and I wanted to learn more about them. To me the major point of this book was to set up Hunter's Dawn which is the second book in the series. Other than these little problems this is a great book and I'm looking forward to the rest of the series. I recommend this to all young adults and paranormal romance fans.
Ordinary 16 year old Deanna Lansford was prepared for another boring summer with her parents on Leech Lake, but things soon changed when she met Eric Matthews.
Her life revolved around reading paranormal romances, but never did she dream of actually meeting a wolf shape shifter, and not to mention one so hot.
Deann knows she must keep Eric's secret from her parents, but she soon discovers a secret of her own that may cost Eric his life.
