Millie Cross has a narrow life. She has her work, her family and that is it. But it wasn’t always like that. She once had it all when she loved and was loved by Logan, a Chaos biker. But when she realized she couldn’t give him what he wanted, she pushed him away. He walked away and left her hurting. She hadn’t been the same since. Twenty years later, when by chance, she catches a glimpse of him, she thinks that it is finally time to tell him why she ended things and move on. She seeks him out and before she can explain he rips her to shreds. Intrigued and troubled by the change in Millie, Logan keeps coming back and telling himself it is for revenge. Then things come to a head and Logan discovers how much Millie sacrificed for him.
Kristen Ashley is unbelievably talented. She makes you feel everything that her characters are feeling even when you don’t always understand them or their reasons. You are completely sucked into their world, their hopes and dreams and disappointments become yours. Millie’s reason for walking away from Logan was a bit unbelievable but you go with it because it fits the characters. I am completely blown away by Ms Ashley’s talent for ripping my heart out and stomping on it and then putting the pieces back together for a happy ending. Walk Through Fire is an amazing journey and I can’t wait for more from the boys of Chaos.
