If you’re like me, you probably spend a lot of time on Twitter. It’s a time-suck, I know, but it can also be a lot of fun. That is, if you follow the right people. Keeping that in mind, here is my list of ten people you should follow on Twitter that will expand your mind and open your heart. FYI: getting this down to ten people was so difficult! If you want more suggestions on people to follow, check out the list of people I follow on Twitter: https://twitter.com/dmunozstewart/following
Mia Sosa @miasosaromance
One of the great things about being a writer is that you meet someone, like them, and then read their work and find you love their books. This happened to me with Mia Sosa. I try not to crush on her too hard, but her books are so hysterical! Light and fun and oh-so hot with a lot of diversity and a big, heaping-helping of honesty. That’s not only what makes her books so fun, it’s what makes her so fun. Follow her to stay up on #LatinxRom and to find out more about her wonderful, funny, engaging, and steamy novels.
Lori Foster @LoriLFoster
Definitely not a hater! Lori is kind and giving. She offers a platform for others and promotes the heck out of them. She once offered the first book in my series as part of a giveaway and sales went up overnight. Woot! She posts pictures of her life, her husband, grandkids, and amazing sunsets on the lake. A dynamic and wonderful writer, her heartwarming and light posts will make you smile. She also does lots of fun book giveaways. You can’t go wrong following this darling woman.

Kristan Higgins @Kristan_Higgins
I know, you’re probably already following her, but if you’re not you should be. I adore this woman and her writing. Every interaction I’ve had with her, on social media or IRL, has been positive and encouraging. She is dynamic and accessible and so smart. She supports diversity and equality, romance and romance authors, and puts herself out there professionally and personally. Plus, she likes animals. Why wouldn’t you follow her?
Adriana Herrera @ladrianaherrera
One of my LatinxRom sisters, author of the fantastic American Dreamer series, Adriana is talented, brilliant, and inclusive. She writes, as she stated in one of her tweets, “queer romance with the Afro-Caribbean culture.”
Not only does she post informative and valuable content–that makes you feel smarter through association–she promotes other authors and the romance genre in general and can teach you skin care. Not kidding. Check out this recent tweet:
Alisha Rai @AlishaRai
Alisha knows her mind, speaks her mind, and as Marie Lee Leniker noted in a recent review of Alisha’s work, “Reading an Alisha Rai novel is like being bathed in a warm, full-throated laugh that soothes as much as it charms. Her voice is delectably modern, one that pops and glimmers.”
Yep. That’s pretty much what you’ll find if you follow her on Twitter.
Recent Tweet:
“I am my very competitive family’s monopoly champ and it is 90% STRATEGY and 10% PSYCHOLOGICAL WARFARE I love my family but I will bury them over St James Place.”
Kennedy Ryan @kennedyrwrites
If you've ever read anything by Kennedy Ryan, you're already a fan of hers. High-five, because I am too. In addition to Kennedy's wonderful and diverse, dynamic and heart-stealing writing, she also champions awareness, acceptance, and inclusion for kids with Autism.
An important voice and an incredible person—I met her at RWA and found her to be delightful–she is definitely worth following and reading. I’m finishing up the third book in her Hoops series and am in love with this series so very much!!
Sonali Dev @Sonali_Dev
Sonali Dev is a bestselling author whose most recent release is PRIDE, PREJUDICE, AND OTHER FLAVORS. Sonali won’t Twitter-abandon you, forgetting to post for weeks on end. We’ve all been there. She has a dynamic page and has a wonderful community of Followers that add to the fun. Yay! Speaking of fun, not only is her writing dynamic and hysterical, she cracks me up online as well.
Recent tweet:
“Me to hubby after watching On The Basis Of Sex (the Ruth Bader Ginsberg biopic): It might be the most beautiful Love Story I've seen in years Him after watching: I think you and I define 'love story' differently. This explains my marriage, my life, my writing, basically everything.”
Robin Covington @RobinCovington
Robin Convington is interesting, talented, and open. She posts about writing, her family, and occasionally the cutest corgi pictures ever. Those shrimpy doggy legs!! Dying. Robin is one of those authors you follow online and then feel like you know her personally. Maybe, because she’s so direct. As her Twitter profile says, she’s a bestselling author of, “hot, sexy, and dirty romance.”
She’s as easy to adore as her writing.
Nicki Salcedo @NickiSalcedo
People say kindness is dead on Twitter. Not if you follow Stanford grad and mother of four, Nicki Salcedo. Here’s one of her tweets from DragonCon:
A lady bumped into me, “I love your hair.” I turned to thank her. She added, “My God, you’re gorgeous!” I said, “You’re gorgeous, too!” Two strangers being nice. No one has ever called me gorgeous until today. The whole world should be like this. #DragonCon #whyilovedragoncon
She’s sweet, geeky, smart, and a wonderful writer. You can’t go wrong reading her books either. I highly recommend, All Things Beautiful.
Xio Axelrod @XioAxelrod
Funny, engaging, a tennis fan, and part of my Sourcebooks family, Xio speaks her mind and supports women while doing it. Two things I very much admire. I met Xio at a writer’s convention, and I was blown away by her creativity and imagination. She has some amazing and creative stories coming out and some you can start reading right now, like Falling Stars, a FINALIST: 2016 READERS FAVORITE AWARDS.
Who can you trust
When family, truth, and love are all on the line?
Gracie Parish knows the true cost of trust. Rescued as a child by the infamous Parish family, she became a member of their covert sisterhood of vigilantes. Gracie saw her most precious relationships destroyed by secrecy. She learned long ago to protect her heart as well as her family's secrets.
Special Agent Leif "Dusty" McAllister will do anything to uncover the truth about the Parish family's covert operations. Dusty knows Gracie is his ticket in. He'll use everything he's got—fair, unfair, and just plain wrong—to break through her defenses. But the more he gets to know Gracie and her family's mission, the harder he starts to fall. Neither one is sure they'll get out of this with their lives—or their hearts—intact.
The lucky print book winner is: Desiree Reilly
Diana Muñoz Stewart is the award-winning, romantic suspense author of the Band of Sisters series, which includes I Am Justice and I Am Grace and I Am Honor (Sourcebooks Publishing). She lives in eastern Pennsylvania in an often chaotic and always welcoming home that—depending on the day—can include husband, kids, extended family, friends, and a canine or two.
When not writing, Diana can be found kayaking, doing sprints up her long driveway—harder than it sounds--practicing yoga on her deck, or hiking with the man who’s had her heart since they were teens.
Diana is represented by the wonderful Michelle Grajkowski of Three Seas Literary Agency.
