The Making of Heroes with Melinda Leigh, Nico Rosso, and Katee Robert
Hi Readers, Today we have Nico Rosso, Katee Robert and Melinda Leigh sharing the making of their heroes.
Nico Rosso Author of Seconds to Sunrise
With the hero of Seconds to Sunrise, I wanted a man with a complicated past to overcome. The heroine is a war widow, and giving them both a painful history allowed for a mutual understanding which helps them grow together. James Sant learned to fight for the right reasons in the British Special Air Service, but his time as a freelancer after that weighs heavily on his conscience. He has a second chance to protect the innocent with the underground organization Automatik. But his mission with widow April Banks might be his only opportunity at redemption. After she's been attacked by vicious cyber criminals he has to help her track them down before they take the life she's worked so hard to rebuild. I didn't want April to be a soldier like James, but she's definitely a fighter, and that draws him out and builds their attraction. His inward struggle to forgive his past coincides with the external fight for April's safety. Ultimately, he's battling not just for survival, but to release himself from the ghosts of his past and find a new life with April.
Katee Robert Author of The Devil's Daughter
Heroes with a protective streak are my favorites, and the hero of The Devil’s Daughter, Zach Owens, certainly fits the bill. He’s a Marine-turned-small-town-sheriff and he takes the position very seriously. The townsfolk are his people and, as such, they’re under his protection. When their teenage girls start showing up dead, our heroine, the daughter of a local cult leader, comes back to town to assist with the investigation. It quickly becomes apparent that she’s connected to the deaths, and though he doesn’t trust her completely, he’s not about to let anything happen to her during the course of their investigation.
Melinda Leigh Author of Midnight Obsession
After the death of his parents many years ago, Conor Sullivan and his older brother struggled to raise their two younger siblings. The Sullivans are a loyal, close-knit family that takes care of their own, no matter what. A former amateur boxer, street savvy Conor now runs his family’s sports bar. He’s been showing drunks to the sidewalk his entire adult life. While he might look like a bad boy, he has a heart of gold, and once he falls for Dr. Louisa Hancock, that heart of gold belongs to her. Just as Conor will do anything for his siblings, nothing will stop him from protecting Louisa. But he’s going to need all of his fighting skills and street smarts to keep her safe after her father is kidnapped by a Viking-obsessed serial killer and the killer turns his sights on Louisa.
Seconds to Sunrise - Black Ops: Automatik, #3
Readers of Maya Banks's KGI series will love the adrenaline-fueled, pulse-pounding suspense of Nico Rosso's SECONDS TO SUNRISE
She thought she'd lost everything…
April Banks thought her website crashing was just a glitch. Starting the online forum for war widows has been the only thing keeping her together since her husband died, and she won't let anything interfere with her work. But this is no technical malfunction—cyberterrorists have targeted the information locked in April's website and they'll do anything to get it. Even if that means removing April. Permanently.
He'll make them pay…
Automatik gave former SAS agent James Sant a way to protect the innocent again. He thinks life in the shadows is all he deserves…until he meets his newest assignment. April is everything James has never let himself want and he knows she's already had too much heartbreak in her life to risk feeling for him. But keeping things professional while hunting the hackers with the gorgeous widow is going to be the hardest job he's ever taken on.
The Devil's Daughter - Hidden Sins Book 1
Growing up in a small town isn’t easy, especially when you’re the daughter of a local cult leader. Ten years ago, Eden Collins left Clear Springs, Montana, and never once looked back. But when the bodies of murdered young women surface, their corpses violated and marked with tattoos worn by her mother’s followers, Eden, now an FBI agent, can’t turn a blind eye. To catch the killer, she’s going to have to return to the fold.
Sheriff Zach Owens isn’t comfortable putting Eden in danger, even if she is an elite agent. And he certainly wasn’t expecting to be so attracted to her. As calm and cool as she appears, he knows this can’t be a happy homecoming. Zach wants to protect her—from her mother, the cult, and the evil that lurks behind its locked gates. But Eden is his only key to the tight-lipped group, and she may just be closer to the killer than either one of them suspects…
Midnight Obsession - The Midnight Series, #4
In Wall Street Journal bestselling author Melinda Leigh’s edgy new thriller, Louisa Hancock thought she was safe…but there’s a new killer in town.
When a mysterious package lands on Louisa Hancock’s doorstep, the Philadelphia museum curator can hardly anticipate the nightmare that’s about to envelop her. The package is addressed to her father—an expert in Viking culture—and inside is a ninth-century sword, a chilling thank-you note, and photos of two dead bodies in a tableau evoking a Nordic funeral. The gruesome images match a recent crime scene. But before the police can investigate the killer’s connection to Louisa’s father, Ward Hancock vanishes.
Sports bar owner Conor Sullivan wants nothing more than to spend his life with Louisa. Devoted and protective, he refuses to leave her side after her father’s disappearance. When a troubled young boxer he’s been coaching is suspected of the murders, Conor is pulled in even deeper. Desperate, Louisa and Conor take it upon themselves to find her father, but soon another ritualistic slaying makes it clear there’s a Viking-obsessed serial killer on the loose. And he has a new target: Louisa.
Nico Rosso was a writer in search of a genre until his wife, Zoë Archer (AKA Eva Leigh) brought romance into his life in more ways than one. He’s created sci-fi and post-apocalyptic romance worlds, as well as working with his wife on the steampunk Ether Chronicles series. His paranormal Demon Rock series brought you satyr rock stars and the Muses who feed them. With the romantic suspense Black Ops: Automatik series, he takes you into the deep dark world of secret operations designed to protect the innocent.
When he isn’t writing, Nico works in the shop creating furniture and hammering on other projects for the house he shares with Zoë and their two cats in the central coast area of California.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katee Robert learned to tell her stories at her grandpa’s knee. She found romance novels at age twelve, and they changed her life. When not writing sexy contemporary and romantic suspense, she spends her time playing imaginary games with her children, driving her husband batty with what-if questions, and planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse.
